How to Test a Dead Man's Switch Email Before You Ever Need It

Most things you set up online tell you immediately whether they worked. You click send, the message arrives, you move on. You do not have to reveal the contents. You only have to say that something exists and may one day arrive. If that conversation feels impossible, that is useful information too — it usually means the message needs to go to someone else, or that what it says needs rethinking.

The checks that only make sense over years

A switch that passed every test on the day you built it can quietly fail three years later without anything visibly breaking. The slow failures are worth their own annual pass:
