You set a frequency for check-ins (from every 15 days to yearly). When you click the link/button in the email, you are automatically checked in. If you miss a check-in, we send multiple gentle reminders via email before any delivery is triggered.

Add noreply@finalsaying.com and contact@finalsaying.com to your email contacts or safe-sender list, and mark our emails as "not spam" if you ever find one in your junk folder. Every check-in, reminder and final message is sent from noreply@finalsaying.com. Ask the people you write to to add it as well, so your message does not land in their spam folder. Signing in to your dashboard also counts as a check-in.

Email can be lost in a crowded inbox or filtered as spam—especially a message that may arrive years from now. WhatsApp messages are opened far more often and reach family members, including older relatives, who rarely check email, so your final words are more likely to be read. WhatsApp can still block or delay business messages, so it works best alongside email, not instead of it.

Message text and subjects are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and they are only delivered according to your check-in status and the rules you set. The encryption key is held on our server, so this is not end-to-end encryption, and photo attachments are not encrypted. Our security page explains exactly who could read what, and what happens if the service shuts down.

You can, at your own risk. The safer approach is to tell family where to find things rather than writing the secrets themselves: which password manager you use and who holds its emergency access, or where a sealed note with your master password is kept. That way they can reach what they need without the password itself sitting in a message.
